NEW DELHI: Three men were held for hiring an app-based cab, holding the driver at knifepoint and forcing him to drive to Greater Noida. In Greater Noida , the driver managed to get off the cab and escape.The men were tracked down when they returned to Delhi with the vehicle. It was found that one of them was a former driver with the same aggregator, but had run out of a job after being fired by the car owner whom he worked for. The accused had then decided to rob a vehicle from the same aggregator to start his own cab service.The victim driver, Devendra Yadav , had called the PCR near Kondli Pul and informed about the carjacking by three men on Thursday afternoon. “The cab was located near the Shyam Dairy at Ghazipur , and was fitted with a fake number plate. The men were arrested from the nearby colony,” said Pankaj Singh, DCP (east).The accused were identified as Anshuman Chopra, Amit Kumar and Rahul Babu. Police said Kumar had roped in Chopra and Babu, an employee of a CNG pump , to snatch a cab.The three had forced Yadav to drive to the Pari Chowk near Greater Noida at knifepoint. Yadav said that as soon they asked him to slow down, he managed to jump out of the moving cab and escaped.
