Wall collapse in Noida kills 4yearold boy

Kumar denied that the wall collapsed due to the digging, but did not confirm if the house was owned by him. NOIDA: A four-year-old boy and a 23-year-old labourer died when the wall of an underconstruction house, apparently owned by a police officer, caved in on Saturday morning.The accident in Sector 63, in which three other labourers are battling critical injuries in hospital, took place around 11am when it was raining heavily. The wall of the house was being built by digging up the basement, which is against the rules laid down by Noida Authority.While four-year-old Himanshu died on his way to hospital, Hemraj succumbed while undergoing treatment.Amit Singh, SHO, Phase II police station, said the “unknown” owner of the house and the contractor had been booked under IPC sections 288 (negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing buildings), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 304 A (death by negligence).A police officer, however, told TOI the house was being built by inspector Naresh Kumar, a former SHO.
