Delhi zoo gets tiger cubs from lsquomixedrsquo pair

Both the cubs look quite healthy, however it will be quite some time before they can be displayed as they need to learn to walk on their own. However, they will be monitored constantly through the next couple of months, with a special diet likely to be provided to them. The white tigress had been feeling uneasy for the last one week and finally delivered two cubs early Wednesday,” said Renu Singh, director, Delhi zoo.Zoo officials said that both the cubs are Royal Bengal tigers and look to be fairly healthy.

In addition, a CCTV camera has also been installed in the enclosure of the mother which the director said is being used to keep track of their health.“We are monitoring their behaviour through the CCTV camera to ensure that they get proper care and a good diet. Both the cubs look quite healthy, however it will be quite some time before they can be displayed as they need to learn to walk on their own. We generally give the mother a couple of months with the cubs before they can be displayed to visitors,” said Singh.
