Moderate showers lashed the national capital in the early hours of Tuesday, bringing down the mercury by several notches. Showers of varying intensity are likely to continue till September 26. The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 29 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 24 degrees Celsius and humidity will be around 90 per cent. ALSO READ | Delhi:Sanitary pads available from vending machines at public toilets This was also only the second time in the year when Delhi’s air quality touched ‘good’ according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)’s air quality index. “Delhi is seeing a good spell in terms of air quality and with more rain forecast, it should stay in this range,” a CPCB official said. ALSO READ | Dengue cases in Delhi jump to 343; 236 in September alone On Monday, the rainfall in Delhi recorded by Safdarjung observatory was 24 mm, while the Palam observatory recorded 24.5 mm rainfall. The rainfall recorded at the Lodhi Road observatory was 20.2 mm while the rainfall recorded by Aya Nagar observatory was 23 mm, according to IMD official. The minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, while the maximum temperature settled at 27 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal," MeT official said. The humidity level was recorded at 100 per cent.
