Delhi teen killed for not running errand

Police said that the youth, Munna, was killed when he refused to perform a task for his ex-employers . NEW DELHI: A 17-year-old youth was beaten to death in front of his mother by two brothers in outer Delhi’s Ranhola late on Sunday night. Munna, however, refused saying that he will not do it as he does not work for them any longer. Meanwhile, hearing her son scream for help, Munna’s mother Maya came out of the house and asked the duo to stop but they kept beating him till he collapsed. The men then screamed at him, insisting that he had to do their work.

NEW DELHI: A 17-year-old youth was beaten to death in front of his mother by two brothers in outer Delhi’s Ranhola late on Sunday night. Police said that the youth, Munna, was killed when he refused to perform a task for his ex-employers . While one of the killers managed to flee, the other was arrested from his hideout.Police said that they received a PCR call from the victim’s mother, who said that her son was being beaten by some men. Soon, a police team rushed to the spot and Munna was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.Munna used to work at a dairy till a week back and had recently taken up employment elsewhere, police said. On Sunday, he was strolling outside his house when Sonu and Monu — his previous employers — approached him and asked him to wash one of their cows. Munna, however, refused saying that he will not do it as he does not work for them any longer. The men then screamed at him, insisting that he had to do their work. But Munna started walking away.Agitated by his denial, they started thrashing Munna. Meanwhile, hearing her son scream for help, Munna’s mother Maya came out of the house and asked the duo to stop but they kept beating him till he collapsed. As Maya tried to stop the men they pushed her, due to which she fell.Hearing the commotion, Monu’s wife also came there and instead of stopping him from hitting Munna, she encouraged her husband to thrash the youth. Some local residents also gathered there, but they remained mute spectators.However, as the crowd swelled and Maya made a PCR call, the duo fled. Cops later arrested Monu from one of his hideouts nearby.Additional DCP (outer) Rajender Sagar said that a case was registered under Section 302 (punishment for murder) and 34 (common intention) of IPC and a team was formed to investigate into the matter.Police are looking for Sonu. Munna was lived with his parents, three sisters and two brothers. He was the sole earning member of his family, police said.
