Gurugram killer to face trial as juvenile

CHANDIGARH: The class XI student of a Gurugram-based private school, who had allegedly killed a class IV student of same school in September last year, would now face the trial of the case as a juvenile.The Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday allowed his petition in which he had sought directions to treat him a juvenile in the trial of the case.Justice Daya Chaudhary allowed the petition after hearing the plea filed by the accused who was named as 'Bholu' by court to ensure his identity is not revealed.He had challenged the decision through which he was ordered to be treated as an adult.On September 8, 2017, the body of seven-year-old 'Prince' (name given to the victim boy) was found inside the toilet of the school, with his throat slit.
