After MHAs rap Delhi cops get softskill tips

NEW DELHI: Days after Union home minister Rajnath Singh blasted Delhi Police for being insensitive, the top brass has now gone on a mission mode to organise soft-skill programmes at the district levels.Cops were sensitised about giving a patient hearing to the complainants and injecting the feeling of safety and security but also to resolve the problems, by an expert at Sarita Vihar on Saturday. The programme will cover nearly 500 police personnel in a month time whose job involves direct public interaction," said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP (southeast).During the launch of the Raftaar patrol teams at the India Gate on Tuesday, the home minister had said he had got to know about a few instances of police personnel misbehaving with common people, and asked the police chief to take strict action against errant personnel.Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik is learnt to have given orders to the joint and deputy commissioners to ensure that no complainant is harassed at a police station.
