Amritsar blast: Delhi Cops beef up NCR security

Security was also beefed up at Pragati Maidan where trade fair is taking place after the blast as the movement of CISF personals along with other security personals was seen. After the incident, the security has been reviewed in Delhi and the NCR region and all agencies have been directed to remain vigilant. Noida police took stock of security systems in malls, market areas and other public gathering places. According to police, there are around 20 Nirankari ashrams in the national capital where security was tightened, including prime areas of the capital, Metro, railways stations, ISBT and IGI. A high alert has also been issued in NCR ahead of the inauguration of the metro route by the PM in Ballabgarh.

In the wake of a grenade attack on the outskirts of Amritsar city in Punjab on Sunday, the security has been beefed up in the national capital. The attack had left at least three dead and several injured. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh confirmed terror linkages to the attack in the Nirankari Bhawan. According to police, there are around 20 Nirankari ashrams in the national capital where security was tightened, including prime areas of the capital, Metro, railways stations, ISBT and IGI. The Nirankari colony in north Delhi, which is an area, always filled with students and UPSC aspirants saw around two dozen Delhi Police personals putting blockades on either side of the roads. Different teams of Noida Police were seen checking security management systems in Logix Mall located near City Center metro station and Spice Mall in sector 25. All private and commercial vehicles entering Delhi from adjoining states are being thoroughly checked. Patrolling has been increased in sensitive areas.
