A 25-year-old man was brutally beaten and stabbed to death by two brothers outside his house in South Delhi's Tigri area on Monday night. Police said that they had a quarrel at a wedding function before they fought outside the house. The two accused brothers are in police custody. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Ajay who, along with his brothers — Rahul and Deepak — was attending a wedding function of a distant relative in Lado Sarai when a quarrel ensued between them. According to the police, the spat was resolved after a few friends and elders intervened. However, it resurfaced when they returned home from the marriage. Following which, the two brothers went to the victim's house and stabbed him. "When the father of the accused brothers approached Ajay's family to discuss the matter after the marriage ceremony got over, Ajay allegedly abused him," said Vijay Kumar Deputy Commissioner of Police (South). "Following the incident, Rahul and Deepak went to Ajay's residence and attacked him with a knife and a cricket stump," he added. Ritu sister of the deceased said that Ajay was their youngest brother and was working for a lawyer. They were at a marriage function of their relative when Ajay had an argument with the accused after which they returned home. She alleged that around 12 in the midnight the accused brothers along with some other boys came to their home and started beating him with sticks and knife. During the enquiry, police learnt that following the incident Ajay was taken to a hospital by his family members, where he succumbed. "A case under section 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Neb Sarai police station. Both the accused Rahul and Deepak have been arrested in the case and the weapon of offence has been recovered," said DCP. AS IT HAPPENED...
