Four cash van agents were robbed off Rs 39 lakhs by armed biker borne assailants who first intercepted their car and then fired two rounds at them in Central Delhi's Ranjeet Nagar area on Wednesday morning. The bullets hit the car but the four occupants escaped unhurt. According to the police the incident occurred around 10:30am. The four occupants of the car have been identified as Anil Kumar (27), Mohammad Arshad (44), Praveen Kumar (45) and Bhupendra Sharma (29). They work for a private firm called Giri Associates in Satyam Complex area of Ranjeet Nagar. While Praveen was behind the wheels, Bhupendra was seated as the co-driver. They had left to deposit the money in the bank. When the car reached near Shadipur three persons on two motorcycles intercepted the car and stopped it. The accused men fired at the car, one bullet hit the front windshield and the other hit the back. "The assailants pointed a gun at them and asked them to get off the car. The bag which contained around Rs 39 lakhs was kept at the back seat. The assailants took the bag and fled away," said a police official. One of the staffers went back to the office to inform them about the incident, meanwhile the police was informed as well. Prima facie it appears that the accused persons were trailing the car and were aware of the topography of the area. The accused men were aware that the place where they carried out the robbery had no CCTV cameras. Police officials are also checking if the company had sacked any employees lately or had any issues with any employee. "A case under section 392 (Whoever commits robbery),and 27/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at Ranjit Nagar police station.
