Worth Rs 4 crore, the seized cocaine is the most expensive variety available in the market.This consignment was to be delivered for the upcoming Christmas and New Year parties in Delhi-NCR.Madho Singh, the zonal director of NCB, said his teams had received information that the woman, a Jamaican national, will be coming to Delhi via Addis Ababa by an Ethiopian Airlines flight on December 6.The NCB mounted surveillance at the terminal and spotted the woman as her details matched the description provided by the source. She was stopped and her baggage was checked, but nothing could be found. The cops then took her to Safdarjung Hospital for a medical examination.An X-ray examination confirmed that there were ‘foreign bodies’ inside the woman’s stomach. The doctors got her admitted and administered some medicines. Sources said she was also fed a lot of bananas. Eventually, she expelled the 74 capsules containing cocaine.Subsequently, the woman was arrested. She told the cops about the two Nigerians she was supposed to hand over the drugs to. They were arrested too and produced before a court that sent them to judicial custody.The cops said that the operation is ongoing and more arrests were likely in the case. “The agency is now on the look out for other people of the syndicate based in India. The foreign authorities concerned are also being approached in this regard,” Madho Singh said.
