NEW DELHI: The short temper of Delhiites was once again in evidence when a 28-year-old man was bludgeoned to death by a juvenile for not lowering his voice while talking on the phone in southeast Delhi’s Jasola village on Monday. The accused was later apprehended and sent to a correction home.Additional DCP (southeast) Ghanshyam Bansal confirmed the development and said that the victim has been identified as Amit. A case of murder has been registered while further probe is on.On Monday evening, Amit was found lying in a park with severe head injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.During the probe, it was revealed that the victim had an altercation with a juvenile following which the suspect was identified and nabbed. During questioning, the boy confessed to attacking Amit with a stone.He told counsellors that he was walking in the park where he ran into Amit, who was on phone. He said that he had asked the victim to lower his voice as it was disturbing him.However, Amit refused, and an argument broke out. In a fit of rage, the juvenile picked up a stone and attacked Amit with it. After hitting him several times, the youth ran away from the spot.Investigating officers said that the two did not have any personal enmity prior to the incident.The teams are scanning the CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the exact sequence of events and are also speaking to the youth’s family members. A forensic team collected evidence from the scene of the crime. The victim’s body was handed over to his family following an autopsy.
