Delhi HC grants bail to Asees Chadha

Photo: ANINew Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted bail to Asees Singh Chadha who allegedly killed a 51-year-old woman from Turkmenistan in a road accident. Two other women travelling with Gulsat and the auto-driver suffered multiple injuries. On Wednesday, Chadha failed to get a bail plea from Metropolitan Magistrate Ambika Singh and was admitted in the state-run Ram Manohar Lohia hospital after he complained of “chest pain and uneasiness”. Chadha was arrested and charged with rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder after he allegedly seriously injured Alajanowa Gulsat, a tourist from Turkmenistan, by ramming his Bentley car into an auto-rickshaw she was travelling in. The 19-year-old, nephew of the late Ponty Chadha of the Wave Group, has been asked by Additional Sessions Judge Sudesh Kumar to furnish a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two surety of the like amount.
