NEW DELHI: A fractured arm led to the arrest of a gang of robbers who had executed a sensational armed robbery of a photographer in northeast Delhi’s Usmanpur. The men had robbed the victim of Rs 3 lakh and his equipment.DCP (northeast) Atul Thakur said that the incident happened on March 2, and the three accused have been identified as Affan, Burhan and Rahat.Multiple teams had been trailing the trio after they executed a sensational armed robbery with a documentary photographer who had just returned from an assignment in Rishikesh.The photographer and his friend were walking to their house after parking their SUV, carrying their bags containing their equipment and cash . The robbers held them in a lane and snatched the bags on knifepoint, following which a case was registered at New Usmanpur police station.A team led by ACP Ramesh Dahiya and inspector Vinay Yadav started investigating the case and a CCTV footage of the incident was recovered. One of the accused was seen with a bandage on his fist in the footage. A local informer identified the injured robber as Affan. He told cops that the man had suffered a fracture in his arm during a cricket match.Cops started the hunt for He told Affan and it was found that he had fled to Bijnaur. On Saturday, the teams laid a trap and nabbed Affan near his home. He disclosed the name of his associates and the trio was arrested.Subsequently, the teams also recovered part of the cash from the men and a motorcycle that the men had bought with the robbed money.
