CPI`s candidate Kanhaiya Kumar`s campaign drew much attention because of high-profile supporters like Swara Bhaskar, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar and Prakash Raj endorsing him in rallies.

PM Modi and Amit Shah led BJP stormed back to power as the results of 17th Lok Sabha elections were declared on May 23. BJP`s firebrand Leader Giriraj Singh won from Bihar`s Begusarai seat that was one of the most discussed seat during the election campaign.

Debutant  Kanhiya Kumar who was being considered as a key contender to the experienced BJP leader Giriraj Singh got huge support from stars like lyricist Javed Akhtar, Swara Bhaskar, Prakash Raj and Shabana Azmi.

CPI`s candidate Kanhaiya Kumar`s campaign drew much attention because of high-profile supporters like Swara Bhaskar, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar and Prakash Raj endorsing him in rallies.

In addition to Kanhaiya Kumar, Swara Bhaskar also campaigned for Aam Admi Party candidate Atishi Marlena from East Delhi who was fighting against former cricketer Gautam Gambhir. Star campaigned Atishi lost the election and stood third with 2.19lakh votes.

Swara Bhaskar who extensively Campaigned for AAP`s Atishi Marlena and KanhaiyaKumar retweeted a post on the result day that described how the most educated candidate Atishi was not chosen while Sadhvi Pragya a candidate accused of terrorism got the majority.

The post that was originally tweeted by Joy stated:

"In 2019, Majority didn’t vote for Atishi Marlena, who was Delhi University topper, studied at Oxford University and reformed Education in Delhi Govt Schools and Voted for Pragya Thakur, who was in Jail and out on Bail on Charges of Terrorism. This is New India in a Nutshell"

 

 

Swara also congratulated PM Modi on Friday and said he is the PM of all India including the ones who did not vote for him

 

 

 

While there was no word from veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar post results, actor Prakash Raj who was himself an independent candidate from Bangalore Central  and also went  to Begusarai to campaign for Kanhiya Kumar said results are a huge slap on his face. The actor lost the election and stood third after BJP and Congress candidate.

Actress Shabana Azmi who also landed in Begusarai for Kanhaiya Kumar was trolled on twitter after she congratulated Narendra Modi for the massive mandate. She wrote "What a strong mandate the people of India have given. Congratulations @narendramodi and NDA led by BJP."

She was trolled soon after posting , a twitter users asked "when you are leaving India?"
