Drunk woman man held for misbehaving with traffic cop

Even both were found drunk as alcohol contents also came positive on medical examination. The incident reportedly took place in west Delhi's Mayapuri area on Tuesday evening at around 6:30 pm. The accused woman Madhuri and the man Anil Pandey on whose scooter she was riding pillion were stopped for not wearing helmets at Lajwanti Garden Crossing. The footage shows the man trying to drive away, but one of the policemen snatches the key and tells him to park the vehicle. The woman again hit the traffic policeman and took away the keys out of his hand.

NEW DELHI: In a brawl with traffic police, a man accompanying a woman on a Scooty were arrested for allegedly manhandling traffic policemen and creating ruckus on busy streets after they were stopped for not wearing helmets and crossing stop line in West Delhis Mayapuri area on Tuesday. Even both were found drunk as alcohol contents also came positive on medical examination. They have been identified as Anil Pandey and the pillion rider Madhuri, said a police official. The incident reportedly took place in west Delhis Mayapuri area on Tuesday evening at around 6:30 pm. The accused woman Madhuri and the man Anil Pandey on whose scooter she was riding pillion were stopped for not wearing helmets at Lajwanti Garden Crossing. The incident was being captured in the mobile phones in which the Madhuri is seen getting off from the two-wheeler and pushing the traffic policeman while shouting at him. She is also seen pushing a biker who tries to obstruct their passage. In the footage, Madhuri was also heard saying that her brother had died and they had to hurry up, however, police denied any such emergency. The footage shows the man trying to drive away, but one of the policemen snatches the key and tells him to park the vehicle. The woman again hit the traffic policeman and took away the keys out of his hand. The altercation led to a traffic jam, which blocked the movement of the accused, following which the two started arguing with the passers-by too, asking them to make way. "A case under sections 186/353/34 IPC has been registered at Mayapuri police station. The investigation is underway," said a police officer.
