Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday raised serious allegations  of betraying the nation.

President Donald Trump`s claim of mediation on the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan created huge controversy in the nation.

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday raised serious allegations of betraying India. " If true, PM Modi has betrayed India’s interests & 1972 Shimla Agreement", said Rahul Gandhi in a tweet. Gandhi also said that mere denial of allegations  will not be enough and said PM Modi should tell the nation what went on in a meeting between him and Trump

Rahul Gandhi`s tweet read,

"President Trump says PM Modi asked him to mediate between India & Pakistan on Kashmir! If true, PM Modi has betrayed India’s interests & 1972 Shimla Agreement. A weak Foreign Ministry denial won’t do. PM must tell the nation what transpired in the meeting between him & @POTUS"

Earlier Congress leader Manish Tewari also reacted on the matter in the Lok Sabha. He said, "Yesterday`s statement by US President Trump, in the presence of Pakistan PM Imran Khan, that PM Modi had asked him to mediate on the Kashmir issue, is like a blow to the unity of India."

"PM Jawab do Jawab do" slogans created ruckus in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday over Trump`s claim.

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not request US mediation in the Kashmir dispute with Pakistan during his talks with President Donald Trump.
