Man who forged signature of 40 MPs arrested from Varanasi by Delhi Police

Police identified the accused as Narendra Nath Dubey Adig, a resident of Varanasi Cantt in Uttar Pradesh. Additional Commissioner of Police (EOW) Suvashis Choudhary said that one of the MPs from Andhra Pradesh made a complaint against Narendra Nath Dubey Adig. "Alleged Advocate Narendra Nath Dubey Adig is on transit remand. Uttar Pradesh Police (Varanasi) commendably cooperated to effect the arrest," police said. A senior police officer said thataccused Narendra Nath Dubey Adig had also contested the Lok Sabha Election 2014 as the candidate of Jan Shakti Ekta Party fromVaranasi.

New Delhi: The Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police arrested a fraudster from Varanasi. Police said that the accused had filed nomination for Vice Presidential Election-2012 by using fake letterheads bearing signatures of 40 MPs of Andhra Pradesh, purportedly proposers and supporters of his candidature. Police identified the accused as Narendra Nath Dubey Adig, a resident of Varanasi Cantt in Uttar Pradesh. He is a lawyer by profession. Additional Commissioner of Police (EOW) Suvashis Choudhary said that one of the MPs from Andhra Pradesh made a complaint against Narendra Nath Dubey Adig. The complainant stated that he never supported the candidature of the accused. "During the course of the investigation, complainant reiterated his allegations and termed his as well as signatures of other MPs appearing on the nomination form as forged," said Delhi Police. Later other MPs had also denied having supported Dubey. The specimen signatures of the complainant were obtained and were confirmed forged by FSL. Police further added that during the course of the investigation, some other MPs whose signatures were forged on the nomination form for the candidature of Vice President Election-2012 of accused Narendra Nath Dubey Adig, were also examined, who also denied to have ever met or knew the accused. "All efforts were made to arrest Narendra Nath Dubey Adig, but he regularly managed to evade his arrest and later he was declared Proclaimed Offender in 2016 by the court of Ld CMM," police said. The EOW team formed under supervision of Varsha Sharma, DCP (EOW) led by ACP Kapil Parashar finally nabbed accused from Varanasi. He was practising lawyer there. He was produced in the court of Ld CJM Varanasi, who directed to produce the accused in Delhi Court on or before August 22. Dubey is on transit remand. Uttar Pradesh Police (Varanasi) commendably cooperated to effect the arrest. "Alleged Advocate Narendra Nath Dubey Adig is on transit remand. A senior police officer said thataccused Narendra Nath Dubey Adig had also contested the Lok Sabha Election 2014 as the candidate of Jan Shakti Ekta Party from Varanasi.
