Health Minister Harsh Vardhan visits Lodhi Garden for NDMC s Yoga event

New Delhi: Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday participated in New Delhi Municipal Council's Yoga Protocol Programme at Lodhi Garden here along with delegates from the 72nd Conference of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee for South-East Asia. The entire group, led by Vardhan, undertook a fitness tour as part of the programme. NDMC Chairman Vijay Kumar Dev and Secretary Rashmi Singh participated in the event and welcomed all the delegates, who were from different parts of South-East Asia. The Council also launched an Educational Eco-Walk for school children at Lodhi Garden in a bid to inculcate awareness and bring the future generation closer to nature. Health Minister Vardhan interacted with these students and motivated them to take the Fit India Movement seriously.

The NDMC said this move will give an opportunity for the children to learn more about flora and fauna in the garden, recycling water, cultural heritage and historic monuments among other things. Health Minister Vardhan interacted with these students and motivated them to take the Fit India Movement seriously. He asked the students to ambassadors for the protection of the environment.
