Delhi CM gifted floral pankhas ahead of Phool Waalon Ki Sair

New Delhi: As the much-awaited flower festival - Phool Waalon Ki Sair - arrives in Delhi, excitement is at an all-time high, as the unique festival in the city attracts people from all over. Following this, the organisers on Monday presented floral pankhas to state Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Speaking on the the occasion, Kejriwal said, "Festivals like Phool Waalon Ki Sair are very relevant since they play a very important role in bringing people closer to each other and promoting peace and love in the society". He also said that the the Phool Waalon Ki Sair has been spreading the message of love, peace and communal harmony among the people. "Phool Waalon Ki Sair" is a 7-day-long festival, wherefrom all religions offer floral chaadar and pankha at the Dargah of Khwaja Bakhtiar 'Kaaki' in Mehrauli and Floral Pankha and Chhatra (canopy) is offered at the ancient temple of Devi Yogmaya in Mehrauli.

The organisers of Anjuman Sair-e-Gul Faroshan also heralded with the playing of Shehnai at Delhi Secretariat. Speaking on the the occasion, Kejriwal said, "Festivals like Phool Waalon Ki Sair are very relevant since they play a very important role in bringing people closer to each other and promoting peace and love in the society". He also said that the the Phool Waalon Ki Sair has been spreading the message of love, peace and communal harmony among the people. "The culture of celebrating festivals of all religions with feeling of festivity and joy should be celebrated by all to promote peace and brotherhood in the society," he added. "Phool Waalon Ki Sair" is a 7-day-long festival, wherefrom all religions offer floral chaadar and pankha at the Dargah of Khwaja Bakhtiar Kaaki in Mehrauli and Floral Pankha and Chhatra (canopy) is offered at the ancient temple of Devi Yogmaya in Mehrauli. The main function will be held on October 19.
