Gautam Gambhir responds to trolls, says my work will speak for itself

Apart from Gambhir, the commissioners of all three Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD), Vice-Chairman of DDA and Secretary/Joint Secretary of Environment, Forest and Climate Change were absent. My work will speak for itself! Agar mujhe gaali dene se Dilli ka pollution kam hoga to AAP jee bhar ke gaali dijiye. They will judge me by my work and not by the propaganda and false narrative spread by the minions of the cutting edge technology, across the "honest CM" of Delhi". Gambhir is in Madhya Pradesh's Indore to commentate on the test match between India and Bangladesh that is currently underway.

Even as the Supreme Court pulled up the Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government over rising pollution in the national capital, top officials and parliamentarians, including former cricketer and BJP MP from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir skipped a standing committee meeting on Urban Development. The meeting had to be called off at the last moment. Apart from Gambhir, the commissioners of all three Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD), Vice-Chairman of DDA and Secretary/Joint Secretary of Environment, Forest and Climate Change were absent. Only four out of the more than 30 invitees were reportedly present in the meeting. Following the cancellation, Gambhir was heavily trolled on social media after fellow former cricketer VVS Laxman tweeted a photo of the two of them eating jalebis and poha in Indore on the same day. Kabhi pohe se teekhe, kabhi jalebi se meethe ... wonderful start to the day in Indoor, where we had breakfast outdoor pic.twitter.com/DxIPtNqYi7 — VVS Laxman (@VVSLaxman281) November 15, 2019 Responding to the criticism, Gambhir tweeted that his work should be judged on the basis of work that is happening in his constituency. "From getting high-end compost machines installed for clearing Ghazipur landfill to reforming EDMC schools by providing digital classes and infrastructure, to installing sanitary pad vending machines for the benefit of women & providing free food to the poor, I have left no stone unturned in the past 6 months in making sure that people who voted for me get the best", he wrote. He also added that he is working on the installation of giant air purifiers with cutting edge technology in his constituency, which will substantially reduce pollution, adding that the pilot version will be installed within the next few weeks. My work will speak for itself! P.S. Agar mujhe gaali dene se Dilli ka pollution kam hoga to AAP jee bhar ke gaali dijiye. cc: Trolls pic.twitter.com/bRyYoFB02c — Gautam Gambhir (@GautamGambhir) November 15, 2019 Attacking the AAP leaders who criticised him being absent from the meeting, he said "Making my commercial engagements (which were entered into before I had become an MP) an issue to mask the incompetence and political greed of their leader, is the saddest thing that the party, which claims to represent honest people, could do. But I have complete faith in the people of my constituency, my city, and my country. They will judge me by my work and not by the propaganda and false narrative spread by the minions of the cutting edge technology, across the "honest CM" of Delhi".
