The survey conducted by LocalCircles, more than 17,000 responses were received from people living in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. "Use of the gas chamber is perfectly apt to define the situation of Delhi," said Sheikh. Ramesh, on the other hand, is looking at properties in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. "I am planning to buy a property very seriously. Now, that I have retired, I can move away from this toxic place and leave peacefully somewhere else," he said. According to the the survey, 31 percent said they would stay in Delhi-NCR and would equip themselves with air purifiers, masks, plants, while 13% said they would stay here and have no option but to cope with the rising pollution levels. Pooja, a resident of Mayur Vihar, and is working in a Multi-National Company in Noida said she left her hometown in Lucknow to look for a better opportunity and now feel stuck. "Can you imagine, pollution is making me regret the decision of coming here," she said while standing on her balcony. Since October, Delhi-NCRs air quality has deteriorated vigorously, but with winter here, the condition is expected to go worse with citizens witnessing smog-like situation. This creates a health hazard to the lives of people living in these areas, especially for children and senior citizens. Manisha Sharma, who recently had a baby was anxious about the air condition and said, "Even if I dont take my child outside, the air pollution will affect him. I am concerned about his health and obsess over his health due to the toxic air," she said. She also said that moving out of Delhi seems like a viable option. "But its difficult to just move away from your regular life for months," she said.
