Prayers of various faiths held at Shaheen Bagh

A+ A-New Delhi: At Shaheen Bagh, people belonging to various religions assembled and recited their holy books. All the religious leaders came to the dais and read out certain articles of the constitution of India. In order to maintain communal harmony, this programme has been organized at Shaheen Bagh where protesters belonging to various religions assembled to oppose implementation of CAA, NRC and NPR, he said. Pandit Lal Sharma who performed ‘pooja’ told that he has come to Shaheen Bagh to give the message of peace and tranquillity. Shaheen Bagh women applaudedA woman protester Sabeeha Fatimi, who came from Lucknow told that the way the women of Shaheen Bagh are protesting day and night, it is laudable.

A+ A- New Delhi: At Shaheen Bagh, people belonging to various religions assembled and recited their holy books. Pandit Supari was seen making preparations for ‘havan’. A maulana was getting ready to recite the verses of the Holy Quran. At the same time, a group of Sikhs gathered there for rendering ‘Gurubani’. A Christian priest came there carrying the Bible with him. All the religious leaders came to the dais and read out certain articles of the constitution of India. As soon as the pandit started reciting ‘mantras’, all the others joined him. Unity in diversity One of the participants of the programme, Mr. Salman told that he has learnt ‘Gayatri Mantra’. He also said that our identity is unity in diversity. In order to maintain communal harmony, this programme has been organized at Shaheen Bagh where protesters belonging to various religions assembled to oppose implementation of CAA, NRC and NPR, he said. Pandit Lal Sharma who performed ‘pooja’ told that he has come to Shaheen Bagh to give the message of peace and tranquillity. Sikh leader, Devender Singh told that first Allah (SWT) created ‘Noor’ (light) and then created all the other creatures. “It means that all of us are the creatures of God and there should not be any kind of differences among us. All of us should be united and work for the development of the country”, he said. “Our leaders have stopped concentrating on people. We have come here to pray to ‘Vahe guru’ to advise our leaders to make efforts to unite people not to divide them”, he added. He recalled that his ‘guru’ had supported the cause of the Hindus when they were being tortured. It is, therefore, obligatory on the part of every Sikh to raise his voice against any kind of injustice, he told. Shaheen Bagh women applauded A woman protester Sabeeha Fatimi, who came from Lucknow told that the way the women of Shaheen Bagh are protesting day and night, it is laudable. She told that situation is not favourable in Lucknow for registering protest, she has, therefore, come to New Delhi to record her protest against this black law.
