Delhi's first coronavirus patient recovers fully, discharged from hospital

The 45-year-old man who was the first person in Delhi to test positive for the novel coronavirus has recovered fully and has been discharged from the hospital. A resident of East Delhi's Mayur Vihar, the man had returned from Italy, a country which has been badly hit by the outbreak. Till Saturday, Delhi had seven confirmed cases of coronavirus. However, after the death of a 68-year-old woman and the recovery of the above patient, the total number of positive cases stands at four. Meanwhile, the total number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country has climbed to 93.

A resident of East Delhi's Mayur Vihar, the man had returned from Italy, a country which has been badly hit by the outbreak. After coming to Delhi, he met several people and even threw a birthday party for his son at a five-star hotel before he was isolated due to the infection. Till Saturday, Delhi had seven confirmed cases of coronavirus. However, after the death of a 68-year-old woman and the recovery of the above patient, the total number of positive cases stands at four. Meanwhile, the total number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country has climbed to 93. The highest number of cases, 31, has been found in Maharashtra. The concern around the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak has reached its zenith worldwide, with entire countries going into quarantine, major sports tournaments being cancelled, and widespread social and economic instability. In China, the epicentre of the outbreak, the situation is the worst. With 80,824 cases (11 new) and 3,189 deaths (13 new), the World Health Organisation (WHO) has already placed the country at a 'Very High' risk assessment level. The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under the central government has launched a helpline number: +91-11-23978046 for coronavirus-related inquiry and support. There are also separate helpline numbers for the different states and union territories.
