In a push to farmer empowerment, total 87 villages in Delhi will be covered under 36 outreach programs planned for Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, a nationwide campaign aimed at delivering advanced farming techniques and welfare schemes directly to farmers, set to be launched by the Central Government. The campaign, scheduled to run from May 29 to June 12, 2025, was the focus of a high-level virtual meeting held under the chairmanship of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in Delhi on Monday. Delhis Development Minister Kapil Mishra, was present in the meeting and expressed full support, stating that the focus will be on implementing both Central and Delhi Government schemes to enhance Kharif crop productivity, promote natural farming and ensure fair prices for produce. He emphasised improving farmer awareness and outreach, with special attention to soil health under the National Mission on Natural Farming. Agriculture ministers from across India also participated in the meeting to ensure seamless coordination and preparedness for the campaign. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modis vision of Lab to Land and Viksit Bharat 2047, aiming to make Indian agriculture self-reliant, modern and prosperous. The campaign will span over 65,000 villages across 723 districts, directly engaging with more than 1.3 crore farmers. Agricultural scientists from ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, state agriculture departments, universities and innovation-driven institutions will work together as a united force to ensure the success of the campaign. Minister Chauhan reiterated the governments commitment to One Nation, One Agriculture, One Team, emphasising that the campaign is a transformative step toward reshaping Indias agricultural future. This is not a mere formality but a movement to bring prosperity to farmers, said Chauhan. It embodies the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Prayas. Suggestions from state representatives were welcomed during the meeting, with the Union Minister assuring their integration to make the campaign more inclusive, impactful and people-centric.
