The Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Saturday received members of the Committee on Public Undertaking of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly during their study tour of several Indian states. The delegation, led by Rajesh Kacchap and Sanjib Sardar, is visiting West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, New Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh from May 25 to June 8. The meeting was also attended by Gajender Drall, Chairperson of the Committee on Public Undertakings in the Delhi Assembly. Gupta warmly welcomed the delegation and lauded their commitment to inter-legislative learning and the exchange of ideas among state legislatures.During the session, Gupta provided an insightful briefing on the operational framework of the Delhi Assembly. He highlighted several forward-looking initiatives underway, including the digitisation of the Assembly Library to facilitate easier access to legislative resources and enhance research capabilities. Gupta also discussed plans to transition the Delhi Assembly building to solar power, reflecting the governments commitment to sustainable energy and environmental responsibility. Additionally, he spoke about efforts to transform the Assembly premises into a heritage site, aiming to preserve its historical significance while promoting public engagement. The visit by the Jharkhand Committee on Public Undertaking is part of a broader initiative to foster cooperation and knowledge-sharing among state legislatures, enabling them to learn best practices and adopt reforms tailored to their regional needs, said Gupta.
