DDA resumes walk-in public hearings for citizens

  • | Thursday | 5th June, 2025

In a move aimed at making public services more accessible, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has resumed its walk-in public hearings from this week, officials said on Wednesday. Citizens can now directly meet senior DDA officials without having to secure an online appointment in advance. The walk-in hearing facility will now be available every Monday and Thursday. Members of the public can visit DDA offices between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm to meet Deputy Directors and Directors. For matters requiring attention from higher-level officials, Commissioners and officers above that rank will be available between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. This renewed public interface is expected to particularly benefit senior citizens, less digitally literate individuals and residents from economically weaker sections who may not have consistent access to the internet or are unfamiliar with online booking systems. The DDA had previously moved to an online appointment system as part of its digital governance reforms, but feedback from the public highlighted the need for a parallel, more inclusive mechanism. All visitors attending these public hearings are advised to carry a valid Government-issued identity card, such as an Aadhaar card, for identification. The DDA has also requested that attendees fully cooperate with security personnel at the office gates to ensure smooth and secure access during these scheduled sessions.
