NDMC to organise mango festival on July 5–6

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will host a two-day Mango Festival on July 5 and 6 at the Palika Services Officers Institute (PSOI) in Chanakyapuri, officials said on Sunday. The event, scheduled from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on both days, will feature a wide variety of mangoes and mango-based products from across the country. According to NDMC officials, the festival aims to highlight the seasonal fruits diversity while encouraging community engagement and cultural exchange. It will feature mango varieties from different regions along with value-added products such as juices, pickles, pulps, and desserts. The event is expected to attract visitors from across Delhi and the National Capital Region, including government officials, PSOI members, and the general public. Organisers said the setting at PSOI, a social and recreational club managed by NDMC, would offer a suitable backdrop for the celebration. NDMC has also invited mango growers, cooperatives, and vendors to take part in the event. Interested participants have been asked to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by July 1. Selected vendors will be allotted stalls free of cost, with access to basic amenities for showcasing and selling their products. PSOI, located in the diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri, serves over 1,000 senior serving and retired officers from the Centre, State governments, NDMC, and All India Services. The club is often used for cultural events and public outreach initiatives. The Mango Festival is part of NDMCs broader push to promote local produce and seasonal events in the city.  It follows a similar format to previous food and cultural festivals held under the civic bodys banner. Officials said the festival will also serve as an opportunity for the public to interact with mango producers and learn more about different regional varieties, cultivation techniques, and traditional recipes.
