Delhi- Ghaziabad stretch to be signal-free

NEW DELHI: In order to ensure a smooth ride between northeast Delhi and Ghaziabad, PWD has proposed to make the 6.6km stretch on Mangal Pandey Marg signal-free.The project envisages building an underpass and two flyovers on the stretch which presently has 12 traffic signals. The project is expected to be completed by May 2019.Construction will begin soon as Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (planning & engineering) gives its nod to the construction of two flyovers and an underpass. It is expected to cost around Rs 150 crore.A government official said once the project is completed, it will save around 50 minutes of travel time between Khajuri Khas and Bhopura.
