GNFC`s Bharuch Township bags Best implementation of digital payments award

GNFC recieved best implementation of digital payments award at the 3rd Digital India Summit 2017

Adding yet another feather in the hat, the Gujarat Narmada Fertilisers and Chemicals limited (GNFC) Bharuch’s township on Friday received the best implementation of digital payments award at the BusinessWorld (BW) 3rd Digital India Summit 2017 in the national capital.

Union Minister of Information Technology Minister, Ravishankar Prasad handed the award to GNFC MD Dr. Rajiv Gupta at the event.

 Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Rajiv Gupta said that the whole idea of a cashless township germinated from PM Modi’s initiatives like Digital India and cashless society.

He added, "When PM Modi asked the nation to move towards a digital and cashless India, GNFC immediately started selling the fertilisers in its 2500 retail outlets cashless. In two months, atleast two lakh farmers brought 20 lakh sacks of fertilizers through digital transactions from GNFC "

The Company’s township in Bharuch, Gujarat became the first 100% cashless township of India. Businesses and township rapidly transited to cashless in manner of implementation and management, which is a classic example of capturing value in a new way through steady transformation.
