Leaky pipes hit supply in east Delhi

Water supply was hit in parts of east Delhi on Monday as two separate incidents of pipe leakages were reported, the Delhi Jal Board said in a statement. In one of the cases, the main line near Laxmi Nagar metro station was damaged, leading to water collecting on the road. DJB pipelineThe Delhi Jal Board said that the line had to be shut down in order to repair it, hitting water supply on Monday evening and Tuesday morning in Madhuban, Nirman Vihar, Preet Vihar, Shankar Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur, Mayur Vihar, Vinod Nagar, Mandawli, Trilokpuri, Dallupura, Kondli, Vasundhara Enclave, Khichripur and other neighbouring areas. In another incident, the main line near Sarai Kale Khan had developed a leakage and the work of plugging it would affect supply on Wednesday and Thursday in Kailash Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan, Jal Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Moolchand Hospital, Greater Kailash, Vasant Kunj, Deoli, Ambedkar Nagar, Okhla, Dakshin Puri, Panchsheel Park, Shahpur Jat, Kotla Mubarakpur, Sarita Vihar, Sidhartha Nagar, Apollo, Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Deer Park and Lutyens’ Delhi.
