CITY-SADAR-PAHARGANJ ZONE New Delhi, September 7 The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today alleged that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress voted together to keep the Kejriwal-led party out in the race during the elections of the vice-chairperson and members of its standing council of the newly-clubbed City and Sadar-Paharganj Zones in the North Municipal Corporation of Delhi. “The BJP and the Congress came together against the AAP. The nexus between these two parties has once more come to light and their true opportunistic faces have been exposed before the people," said a spokesperson for the AAP. During the election for the City-Sadar-Paharganj Zone chairperson position, which was won by AAP' Babita Sharma, the BJP's three votes were declared invalid, leaving the Congress candidate with only their six votes. The AAP accused the BJP members of indulging in "cross-voting" for other positions to ensure that their "partners in corruption" the Congress candidates won the election for vice-chairman and standing council. AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey, while addressing a press conference on this issue, said, “The BJP and the Congress have been looting the civic bodies and the country together and one more evidence of their collusion has been found today. In the newly created City-Sadar-Paharganj Zone, the AAP has the largest number of councillors and eldermen at eight, while the BJP has three and the Congress has six.” “The numbers would suggest that the AAP should have won the chairperson, vice-chairperson or standing council positions, but while electing the vice-chairperson and standing council, the BJP and the Congress joined hands, voting together for the Congress candidates. The BJP councillors in this zone also voted for the Congress,” the AAP leader claimed.
