Ghaziabad: Two persons were arrested in connection with a carjacking in the Kavi Nagar area last week. One of the accused, Saurabh Sirohi, was accompanying the complainant, Nishant Sawaiya, a Ghaziabad businessman, in his car when three others intercepted it on December 5, police said. The accused broke the cars window with bricks and took Nishant and Saurabh hostage at gunpoint.The accused allegedly drove the two men up to NH-9 where they dropped off Saurabh. Nishant was then taken to EPE and dumped on the road. Cops suspected Saurabhs role as the accused had not assaulted him but tortured the complainant to share his credit card pin and took other valuables from him before throwing him out of the car. About Rs 32 lakh was recovered from the two men but not the car. Saurabh and his accomplice were arrested from Mukherjee Park crossing after a gunfight in which the former sustained a bullet injury.
