Soon, checks in govt schools to boost teaching, learning skills

GURGAON: The education department will send an official to every government school from this month to monitor functioning, cleanliness, performance and arrangements. The step is being taken as part of the Nipun Haryanas Shiksha Diksha programme. During the inspection, the teaching standards of every teacher will be monitored while students reports will also be examined, officials said. The use of mathematics & science kits, FLN material, workbooks, QR cards, NIPUN Ramlila, and other work kits will also be judged.Besides, the inspection official will keep a check on various grants received by schools, their civil work as well as the mid day meal scheme. The team will have to submit the report to the headquarters, an education department official said. Each school will be given targets on the basis of facilities and capabilities. Kumar was apprehended while trying to flee out of Delhi, and a pistol was recovered from his possession.Worms found in midday meals supplied to Ponda school kidsSchools in the Savoi Verem, Volvoi, and Keri areas of Ponda taluka reported finding worms in their midday meals. The education department has requested a report on the incident and has asked for stop-gap arrangements to be made until an inquiry is completed. The contaminated food, which included pulao with soya bean chunks, was supplied by the Utkarsh Womens Self-Help Group. Samples of the food have been collected for testing by FDA officials. Parents are demanding strict action against those responsible for the neglect.
