Throat slit, woman left bleeding near KMP; 1 held

GURGAON: A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly slitting the throat of a woman with a sharp-edged weapon and leaving her bleeding near the RTA tax booth on a service lane under the KMP expressway a day ago. Police identified the accused as Rakesh, a resident of Sultanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. We received information about a woman lying unconscious and bleeding on the road at 9.15pm.A team rushed to the scene and found herthroat slit, said Varun Dahiya, ACP (crime).Police initially admitted her to Ganga Ram Hospital in Bilaspur. However, the doctors referred her to the Sector 10 General Hospital on Friday. From there, doctors referred her to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi, where she is currently undergoing further treatment. Rakesh was booked under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) on Saturday. Police suspect that the murder was a result of a financial dispute with his partners. Four of the partners have been detained for questioning.
