1st time this year: City tops Nipun Haryana scorecard

GURGAON: The city topped the Nipun Haryana ranking this month with a score of 91% for the first time this year. Last month, the city scored 89% and was at the fourth position. According to the data, 78% of the mentors made school visits in the month, as compared to 60% last month. Saroj Dahiya, elementary education officer of the city, said, We were short of assistant block resource coordinators (ABRC) and block resource coordinators for making school visits and marking scores on the Nipun Haryana app.There are a total of 363 primary schools spread in 65 clusters in the city and 54 assistant block resource coordinators.So, some ABRCs have been assigned more than one cluster in order to improve the score in school visits category. Five guest teachers are also asked to take the responsibilities of an ABRC.ABRCs have to engage in several other tasks as well. So it is difficult for them to manage the school visits along with other activities, Manoj Lakhra, project coordinator of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy under Nipun Haryana, said. The scheme will begin in Ratangarh village, with buses stationed there at 7 a.m. to transport students to and from school. The initiative will be extended throughout the state and will be funded by the District Education Department. This is expected to benefit many school-going students in Haryana.Coordinate bench observations no ground for review, says Supreme CourtThe Supreme Court of India has ruled that a judgment cannot be reviewed based on passing references made by another bench of equal strength. The court rejected a review petition seeking re-examination of a previous verdict on the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) of Rainbow Papers Limited. The court emphasized that a coordinate bench cannot comment on the judgment of another bench and that conflicting decisions can lead to uncertainty in the law. This verdict is significant as it comes amid a debate over the review of a previous judgment on the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
