3 more held for murder of GRP sub-inspector

GURGAON: Three more people have been arrested for the murder of a Government Railway Police (GRP) sub-inspector. The SI was shot dead by his son in Sector 10A over a property dispute on November 4, police said. Earlier, the cops wife was arrested for the murder. The arrested accused include the victims son Yash (25), his nephew Sahabram (45) and Akshay (20), a friend of Yash.An investigation revealed that it was Yash who shot the victim, SI Rajbir three times at their residence in Sector 10A. To mislead cops, he also fired at his mothers arm and cooked up a false story of self-defence, ACP (crime) Varun Dahiya said.According to the police, at least four people conspired to kill Rajbir — Yash, who was the actual shooter; Sahabram, who provided false testimony; Akshay, who supplied the illegal gun to Yash, and Sarita, currently in jail.Sarita was having an illicit relationship with Sahabram, while a property dispute was going on between Rajbir and Yash. Yash had been pressuring Rajbir to transfer the property into his name, but Rajbir was reluctant to do so. So, the four conspired to kill him, Dahiya said.The four accused were booked under sections 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as under the Arms Act, on Wednesday at Sector 10A police station.Police have recovered the pistol used to commit the crime and three empty cartridges. The arrests came after Rajbirs brother, Satbir, filed a complaint alleging that his sister-in-law Sarita and Yash conspired to kill Rajbir.A few months ago, after a fight with Yash and Sarita, Rajbir decided to disown Yash. They threatened to harm him, saying they could do anything to get the property, Satbir told police.Yash was involved in an extramarital relationship, and his wife, Nisha, left him, Satbir said. Rajbir returned to the residence in Sector 10A on October 30 and invited Nisha over for Karwa Chauth the next day. Satbir said on November 1, Sarita and Nisha had a quarrel, following which Nisha returned to her house.
