Gurgaon: A 40-year-old cook at an eatery in Sector 37 was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a 52-year-old colleague by hitting him repeatedly on the head with a stove after he refused to make rotis for him. On Friday morning, the eatery owner found the cook lying dead and informed the police.On Thursday, around 10.30pm, I left for my home.When I came the next day around 8.10am, I saw our cook, Darshan Lal, lying in a pool of blood near the kitchen. It was evident that he was brutally attacked with a heavy item. After talking to the staff, I anticipated that Karan could be behind the murder as no one else was present with Darshan the previous night, said Deepak, the owner of Aggarwal Dhaba near Basai Enclave.The deceased hailed from Jammu.Police reached the spot around 9am on Friday and sent the body for an autopsy.Based on Deepaks complaint, Karan was booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code at Sector 10A police station.The accused had consumed alcohol. He was serving food and cleaning utensils and stayed back at the dhaba along with the victim. When he asked Darshan to make rotis, the latter refused. This led to an argument. As it escalated, Karan attacked Darshans head with a stove and a piece of wood before fleeing, said police spokesperson Subhash Boken.He was arrested from Old Faridabad while he was trying to escape to his native village in Uttar Pradesh.
