Gurgaon: A 38-year-old man died on Friday evening when a truck rammed his bike on NH-8. His sister, who was riding pillion, has sustained minor injuries.According to police, Rajesh and Sunita, both residents of Shikohpur village, were on a bike, going towards Chandla Dungarwas village in Manesar when a truck hit them from behind near Kalawati hospital. Rajesh was purportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.Rajeshs cousin, Sanjay (27) — also the complainant in this case — said Rajesh and Sunita fell from the bike after the collision and Rajesh came under the rear tyres of the truck. The truck driver drove away after the accident.Rajesh and Sunita were going to Chandla Dungarwas at 5.30pm on Friday when the accident happened. I was informed about the incident after a call from the hospital authorities, Sanjay said. The victims were taken to Ardee hospital by passersby where Rajesh was declared dead on arrival. Sunita did not require major treatments. Praveen, sub-inspector from Kherki Daula police station, said, The truck has a registration number of Rajasthan and was being driven recklessly.
