Out for walk, man targeted by phone snatchers, injured

GURGAON: Two men on a bike allegedly snatched a 50-year-old mans phone from his hand while he was out for an evening walk in Sector 45 on Saturday, police said. A case has been registered and investigation is under way.Complainant Rohitas Singh told police that he was out for an evening walk around 8.30pm on Saturday when the incident occurred.I was walking on the service lane when two men on a bike approached him from behind and grabbed his phone from his hand, Singh alleged.The assailants fled before he could even react, Singh said. He also added that there were other commuters in the area but none stopped to help him.After the snatchers fled, Singh informed the police of the incident and they arrived at the spot. An FIR was registered under Section 379A (snatching) against the two unidentified accused at the Sushant Lok police station on Saturday.Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohammad Zahid said, It is very important for people to also take care of their belongings by keeping them safe. We have collected all the necessary details to initiate an investigation in the case. We are checking the nearby CCTV cameras to see if the accused were captured in any of the footage.We will arrest the accused soon.Singhs wife told TOI, I have requested that necessary action be taken against the snatchers and that the phone be returned to us.
