Eleven-year-old Adhyayan Sharma from Gurgaon has recently completed his first-ever Everest Base Camp with his father. After completing 135 km in 12 days, Adhyayan told us, "Climbing up to the base of a great mountain was surely not an easy task. I had seen certain blogs, videos along with my father before taking the challenge. I was the youngest member in the group and was well supported and encouraged by all members which kept me motivated."He added, "On the last day, my father was a little behind me during the trek so I waited 30 mins for him to click the victory pose.That moment has been etched in my memory."Talking about the decision to climb up Everest base, the Gurgaon resident shares that his father took him to three treks this year and Kedarnath was one of the three treks. "I completed this 19km journey at ease with him and my father was planning for the EBC trek at that point. I read about it on the Internet which excited me and I requested him to take me along, he agreed immediately and later convinced my mother to take me along," he shared. Adhyayan also told us that he missed his mothers food during the entire trek. "Breakfast and lunch was the most difficult part of trek as I was not prepared mentally to have such a staple diet and was looking forward for evening time to have pizza and noodles. I missed my moms food a lot during the entire trek," he added. The lesson he learnt from the trek is one should always keep going. "Always keep going is my learning from the trek. Im happy to have this completed and looking forward to many more," he said.
