Engineer on bike dies in hit-&-run crash on NH8

Gurgaon: A 30-year-old engineer died after his bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle on NH-8 when he was heading from his workplace in Kankrola to IMT Manesar on Thursday.According to police, Jalaj Agnihotri — a resident of Ashok Vihar Phase 1 — was on his way back home from a metal sheet company wheere he ws working. Police said Friday was his last working day in the company.Passersby informed the police, who reached the spot and rushed him to Aarvy hospital. Agnihotris brother, Sameer Kumar, also the complainant in the case, said, Jalaj met with the accident on NH8 near Kherki Daula. I was informed about it by police. Upon reaching the spot, I found my brother lying in a pool of blood. He had lost blood due to severe injuries and died while undergoing treatment. We anticipate that the victims bike was hit by an unknown vehicle from behind. We have scanned the nearby areas for CCTV cameras but could not find any, Sandeep, assistant sub-inspector from Kherki Daula police station, said. An FIR has been registered against the unknown accused at the Kherki Daula police station under sections 279 (driving recklessly) and 304A(death by negligence) of the IPC on Friday.
