Three men arrested for sextortion in Nuh

Gurgaon: Three persons were arrested on Monday for allegedly blackmailing people with private photos and extorting money from them. The arrest was made after the Nuh police received a tip-off.According to the cops, Wasim, Saddik and Hanif — all residents of Nuhs Akbarpur — would make fake profiles on social media, impersonating women and add sham mobile numbers.Krishna Kumar, public relations officer, said, The trio would target men on social media who are convinced to converse on WhatsApp video calls, where the accused would hide their faces and use voice changing applications to imitate a woman.After some time, the accused would initiate private conversations with the target and when the latter is in a compromising position, the caller would screen record. This recorded video is then used to blackmail the victims and money is being extorted in return to keep the videos private, the official said.Six mobile phones and eleven SIM cards have been recovered and upon checking their phones, fake profiles, threats to extort money and numerous explicit videos were discovered. The raids focused on Munich, with additional searches in other Bavarian locations. Examples of the hate speech included a sticker in a WhatsApp chat and social media posts advocating for the extermination of Jews. The Bavarian police commissioner against hate crime expressed the importance of protecting Jews and Israelis in the state. Germanys chancellor and president have condemned the rise in antisemitism in the country following the Israel-Hamas war. Germany has strict rules against hate speech and the use of banned symbols, including swastikas. The denial of the Holocaust is also banned. The war between Israel and Hamas resulted in numerous casualties.Telangana Hockey chief accuses Hockey India secretary of extortion, Bhola Nath terms it baselessHockey Indias secretary general Bhola Nath Singh is accused of trying to extort Rs 25 lakh from Telangana Hockey unit president Saral Talwar. Talwar claims that Bhola Nath demanded the money in exchange for allowing the state hockey unit to conduct elections. Bhola Nath denies the allegations and says he has always worked for the betterment of the sport. The issue started when Hockey India formed an ad-hoc committee to run the affairs of Telangana hockey. Talwar has reached out to Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey for action.
