Gurgaon: Fake certificate racket busted, three arrested

GURGAON: Three people were arrested on Thursday for allegedly making forged documents and charging money. Two of the accused ran the shop and were assisted by a bank employee, police said.According to police, Surendra Vasi — a resident of Prem Nagar — and Deepak Kumar Vasi— from Rajasthan rain the shop and forged documents. Another accused, Heena Vasi, worked at a private bank in Sector 7.Surendra and Deepak were caught during a raid by the CMs flying squad in Tikri village. The duo then informed the police about Heena who was arrested later. Explaining the modus operandi, Harish Budhiraja, a CID officer, said, Surendra and Deepak, operating from Sri Nath Enterprises in Tikri, were engaged in making fake documents, including Aadhaar cards and birth certificates. A sofatware was being used by them to edit authentic details on the documents. Since Heena is well versed with procedures of making identification documents, her help was sought by the accused. An investigation is under way to ascertain the extent of their activities in creating fake Aadhaar cards and birth certificates.Several fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, Ayushman cards, and other certificates were recovered during the raid. Additionally, cash amounting to Rs 61,000 was also seized. The trio has been arrested under sections 417 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. The charges of creating fake documents ranged between Rs 2,000 to Rs 15,000.
