Woman injured as BMW slows down, truck crashes into it

GURGAON: A 28-year-old businessman alleged that his mother was injured after a truck hit their BMW near Rajesh Pilot Chowk on Thursday night. He also alleged that his car incurred damage of Rs 15 to 20 lakh due to the accident.The truck driver, who had fled from the spot after the accident, has been booked after an FIR was filed at the Sector 65 police station on Saturday.The businessman, Prabhav Agarwal, travelling with his parents and sister, had slowed down his car after spotting a pothole, opposite the Bikaner shop on the Golf Course extension road. A truck loaded with cement rammed into the car from behind.Prabhavs mother, Vijay Lakshmi, who was unconscious due to the collision, was taken to Pratiksha Hospital in Sector 56. She was discharged after preliminary treatment.The Agarwal family, residents of Rosewood City in Sector 49, were returning home from the DLF area.In the car, my father Gopal Agrawal was sitting with me in the front, while my mother Vijay Lakshmi, and sister Bhavika were sitting behind. To avoid the car jerking, I slowed my speed from 40 km/h to 15 km/h, said Prabhav.Urging the administration to fix potholes and ban illegal cuts, Pranav said, Even though all of us are out of danger, the accident has given us lifelong trauma. The city has potholes and illegal cuts on some of the most important roads. The victim, identified as Aarshdeep, is in the transport business. The trucks owner, Sarabjeet Singh, had installed GPS on the truck and was able to track it down in Madhu Vihar. When they tried to apprehend the suspects near Hasanpur depot, the robbers fired at Aarshdeep and fled from the spot, abandoning the truck. Aarshdeep is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
