Now, you can remove names from Family ID on govt portal

Gurgaon: The Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) portal will now have an option to remove the name of a member from the Family ID. It will come handy in getting the names of a member who is no more related to the family removed, like in a case of marriage or divorce. Once a woman is married, she becomes part of the family of her in-laws. Hence, her name needs to be removed from her maternal family ID.Similarly, in case of divorce, people can get the names of their former partner removed, said an official from citizen resource information department (CRID) on Sunday.Explaining the process, a spokesperson of CRID said, On the Split Family option, a person will have to give the reason for separating the family ID and then select the member to be separated. The portal will ask them to do an OTP verification. Then after entering the electricity connection number and getting its KYC done, the member would be separated from the family ID.
