Workers thrashed by group, told to shift shop; 7 booked

Gurgaon: A 45-year-old man, who works at a nursery in Shanti Vihar and his co-worker Kapil, were allegedly attacked by a group of unidentified assailants on Monday night, police said. The victim, Pawan, lodged a police complaint alleging that the attackers had suddenly entered the shop and started beating him and Kapil with sticks and iron pipes. The assailants fled the spot when Kapil and Pawan lost consciousness.I work at the nursery.Around 10pm on Monday, I was discussing some work-related matters with Kapil when six to seven men entered the shop and started hurling abuses at us . Before we could do something, they started blowing punches and hitting us with sticks and iron pipes. They even threatened us to stop working in the nursery and threatened us. As they were leaving, they told us they would kill us if we didnt relocate the shop. They beat us so brutally that both of us lost consciousness. They left us in a miserable condition and fled, Pawan said.I have never seen or met the attackers. As far as I can guess, they were sent by the owner of another nursery located in our neighbourhood, he added.Subsequently, both victims were hospitalised at Aman Hospital in Hayatpur village by locals. The police were informed around 12.30am at the Bajariya police booth, from where the complaint was transferred to Sector 10 police station.Inspector Ved from Sector 10 police station said, Both victims have received severe injuries. Pawan has a fracture in his right hand, deep wounds in both legs, and cuts on his forehead, while Kapil has swelling in his arms and deep wounds in both legs. We have recorded the victims statements and are trying to trace the accused. As of now, they remain unidentified. Sharma, who is also from Hyderabad, now carries the horrifying image of the incident in his mind as the only reminder of their vacation.Hotel owner, staff held for threatening to file fake complaint against policeA hotel owner in Bengaluru allegedly threatened a woman police sub-inspector (WPSI) and her subordinates after they asked him to close his business after 1am. The hotel owner, identified as Sanjeev Gowda, along with his employees Sandeep Kumar and Hemanth, continued serving food despite the warning. Gowda claimed to have permission to run the hotel 24x7 and threatened to file a complaint against the officers for harassment. The trio was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
