2 arrive in car, uproot ATM & flee with ₹20L

Gurgaon: Two thieves stole Rs 20 lakh from an ATM of a nationalised bank in Kherki Daula on Friday morning. The thieves uprooted the machine using a gas cutter, stole the entire cash jacket, which holds the cash inside the kiosk, and then burnt it to destroy evidence. The incident happened at 5.40am when the security guard left for home after completing his night shift.The CCTV cameras installed near the ATM booth recorded the theft, capturing two men with their faces covered arriving in a white Toyota car with a Delhi registration.Initially, the accused halted near the booth to scan the area while the trunk of their car was already open. After a few minutes, they went inside the ATM, and started cutting into the kiosk. The footage shows the thieves holding the cash in their hands and placing it inside the trunk one by one. When they realised that this was a time-consuming process, they decided to keep the cash jacket inside the cars trunk. Subsequently, the miscreants lit the ATM booth e. A passerby even asked the thieves about the matter upon spotting the flames, but he was shooed away. An FIR was registered under Section 379 (theft) of the IPC on Friday.
