Earlier, police had arrested two persons in connection with a case of an acid attack in Lakhimpur on October 8. GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Sunday arrested one Sanjoy Sarkar (23) from Hojai area, some 170 km from here, in connection with an incident of acid attack. Sources added that the accused was allegedly pestering the girl even after she turned down his proposal.This was the second incident of acid attack in the state this month. The girl, a college student, was returning home with a friend when they were allegedly accosted by two youths who came in a car and threw acid on her. "The girl suffered burn injuries on her face and body and is undergoing treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
