Tinsukia shootout: 'There were 5 to 6 armed men in army uniform'

GUWAHATI: A lone survivor who got injured on Thursday shootout in Tinuskia district of Assam by suspected Ulfa (I) militants in which five men were killed, said there were five to six armed men in army uniform, who came on foot and spoke in Hindi and Assamese.The militants picked up six men, two of who were shopkeepers and were closing business for the day , took them to a stream flowing into the Brahamputra river, made them sit on the ground in a line and shot them from point blank range.Sahadev Namasudra, the sixth man, who was at one end of the line, jumped into the pit and pretended to be dead when the men started firing from their automatic weapons.“We were sitting in the shop when three men came in asked to come with them for some discussions. They were speaking with us in Hindi but when they were talking amongst themselves they were talking in Assamese.
